What if you had decor that was "winter" friendly, rather than just the traditional Christmas decorations? What would your home look like during the winter season?

Do you spend hours dragging out all your christmas decor? Spend heaps of time deciding where you want to place everything just so?! Only to then take all that hard work down right after all the festivities are over. I am all about avoiding that chaos and extra work. I like to enjoy my "WINTER" decor much longer. I will even keep my tree up just with the lights because it is still dark so early I love the ambience it creates.

This year I wanted to keep things simple, cozy and wintery!

I enjoy choosing WINTER DECOR because our winters can be very long and I need something to keep me busy on the dreary days.

We want longevity out of our decor investments and the best way to do that is to invest in items that easily transition in and out of our seasons. I don't enjoy rushing to get "christmas" decor up as soon as December hits only to enjoy it for a short period of time. I want to enjoy as much of the cozy time as I can! The easiest way to do this is to choose pieces that are neutral in colour and can carry from season to season with out ton of time or effort.

4 Simple Ways to Decorate For Winter

1. Faux Trees

Anything that resembles greenery can be added when ever you feel the weather has changed and you're eager to change things up. I tend to enjoy adding tree shape decor, whether it is wood, ceramic, plastic, felt, mini or large lit trees you can display them early and all winter long, because they are what I consider WINTER decor.

TIP: Try pairing different heights and sizes to make a great visual in any room of the home.

2. Faux Fur

My favorite though would have to be pillow covers.

There are so easy to add when switching up your decor for any season and they don't take up a lot of room to store until next year. It's a win win! The faux fur is also animal friendly and by that I mean pets love to cozy up to these! Another great addition is faux fur throws to snuggle up in on any cold winter night. If you add these pieces to any room in your home you sure to keep those warm feels all winter!

3. Bring the Outside In

Want an excuse to get outside on a winters day?

Collecting some pine, cedar and birch for indoor winter decor is a great reason to go for a little walk! Take your pups with you! I do!

Nature gives us the most beautiful decor that we can display lovingly and beautifully in our homes. Add some greenery to your favorite vase or bottle as a table arrangement for an instant eye catcher! Bonus, they last much longer than flowers and do not need to be watered nearly as often. I just change the water every once in a while. Plants don't need to be watered nearly as often in the colder months. Or choose to display the greenery you collect across your table or mantel for added greenery!

4. Wreaths

Now, this is my absolutely favorite and easiest winter decor to put up, keep up all season!

I love to hang plain faux wreaths in my windows and on my doors adding some simple greenery to our dull winters. Using command strips makes the hanging a whole lot easier! Keeping them plain I don't get tired of them and they look amazing all winter! You could add a simple festive bow in your favorite holiday colour if you need a little something extra for your decor.
